1.Sepia waist up w/red border and clipped corners, signed on back Truly yours, Lemuel S. Lee, First Sgt. H Co. 8 regt. Ill VV Vandalia Fayette, Co, Illinois ICRR Gallery Hinton & Oppenheimer, Mobile, Hinton’s Galleries, N.O. and Montgomery Ala.  First Sergt Lemuel S. Lee was from Vandalia and served in Co. H of the 8th Illinois Infantry. He was promoted to 2nd Lt. in August 28, 1865, but never mustered and he mustered out May 4, 1866 as a Sergeant.  On the back of the CDV photo is: "Truly yours Lemuel S. Lee First Sergt H Co. 8 Regt ILL VVI". He also wrote in his hometown: "Vandalia Fayette Co. Illinois ICRR". The last initials apparently referring to the Illinois Central Rail Road.  Hinton & Oppenheimer and the 8th Infantry served in both states either took the photo in New Orleans or Mobile/Montgomery, AL. - $175 C48

CSS boat “Eastport” / clipped corners / back: Gallery: T. W. Bankes, Helena, Ark.  This Ironclad was acquired 10/31/61 by the Confederate Army.  Then later captured by Union before completed and served in Navy.  $500
